Gioia e Mestizia is a concert of symphonic and lyric music, which will be held on Saturday 18 November 2017 – 9.00 pm at the Metropolitan theater in Catania, on the occasion of the 9th year of the death of the musician and composer of acese origin, M ° F. Musmarra, as well as great-grandfather of the President of the “Maestro Francesco Musmarra” Association, of the poet Dott.ssa Vera Torrisi. The pieces that will be performed are unpublished for this period, as they have been recovered, after detailed and lengthy research, from public archives and from the musician’s heirs. The concert will be performed, partly by the youth orchestra of the “V. Bellini” Musical Institute of Catania, directed by Prof. G. Romeo and part of the Quinquies Domina Ensemble, directed by pianist M ° Vera Pulvirenti, presents the conductor Salvo La Rose. The lyric pieces will sing: Rosanna Leonti (soprano); Maria Motta (mezzo soprano) and Salvo Todaro (baritone) – texts by Vera Torrisi, all accompanied by the dance group “Danzando nineteenth”.
