The musical cultural association, non-political and non-profit, is inspired by the life and operas of Maestro Francesco Musmarra. Born in 1866, in Acireale, in a family of musicians, F. Musmarra deepens his studies in the city of Palermo, where he perfects himself in harmony and composition. In the early years of the '900 he became Professor of Exception and conductor at the Teatro Bellini of Acireale (CT), later taught music to noble families acesi, and finally after a few years, was proclaimed director of the Civic Banda of Acireale , from 1916 to 1921.
Among the various awards we mention the award issued by King Vittorio Emanuele III, for his excellent artistic qualities, for the composition of the piece for band and orchestra, Trento and Trieste; The Diploma of Honor received at the International Competition of Mandolin and Guitar, held in Bologna in 1902, for the song "Bizzarria" (polka); in 1905 for the song "Gioia e Mestizia" (mazurka); in 1909 for the re-edition of the song "Lucia di Lammermoor", by G.
